A rise in Customer Service?
One great thing that I noticed in this Economy is the level of customer service has increased. My wife Mary actually noticed.
This week, I had a problem with my car. When I started it all the lights on the dashboard went crazy. And then it said “Check Transmission.” As I was trying to drive away the transmission did not click into second gear. Off to the dealer (I still have a warranty). Turns out, a squirrel made a nest under my hood… with my wires!
So, I had to deal with the car manufacturer and my insurance company and thought it was going to be a nightmare. Turns out, everyone was wonderful to deal with! The customer service people were actually caring, and worked toward a resolution. I think they might be afraid I would leave them and take my business elsewhere.
It is up to us to keep doing business. Small business is what will help pull us out of this. Now, I am not an economist, but doesn’t that make sense. After 9-11, everyone banded together to get through. We are doing the same now. In organizations like BNI we are still passing referrals and doing business with each other.
Are we learning from this situation we are in? Can we carry this over when we pull out of it? Let’s go for it!
